Yesterday I brought some chrysalis to school.

When I got to school this morning 3 had hatched. They are drying their wings.

Tally Charts

We have been learning how to use tally marks. We did a tally of our favourite pets. We learnt that we put the fifth tally mark around the bundle. That makes it easy to count the tally marks.

Next we chose our own question about what we wanted to find out about our T group. Then we went and asked our question to everyone in our Tgroup 

We recorded the answers using tally marks.

We used our tally charts to make a bar graph.

Making silly sentences in reading is fun.

We worked together to make this puzzle - it was tricky.

We are proud of ourselves.

This one was hard too. We all helped and Mrs Pettersson and Mrs Townsend as well.

Discovery time involves many activities. Children enjoy discussing what they are doing with each other and working together to achieve a result. 

Tuesday Discovery

Lots of creative construction happening using a variety of equipment. All hands together have helped to create our Huritini River.

Our New Lego Table

Today we were lucky enough to get our new Lego table.



We are super lucky as we are the only school in NZ to have this design. It is now being sold to other schools as the Halswell Play Table.



We can't wait to see all the amazing creations that are going to be made.

In Discovery time this week we are focusing on our school values - care and respect.

We are practicing- sharing, talking kindly to each other, using our manners, taking turns, looking after our equipment and putting it away when we are finished.

Ti Kouka's Scavenger Hunt

We did a scavenger hunt in Ti Kouka with a buddy today. The scavenger hunt helped us to learn where different things in the studio are.
